Now to close all those holes. Pocket holes are a joke that newbies think will shortcut skill and practice.
Just used mine for the first time today. One minor thing is the diameter gauge is off about 3/16”. But I always test first. My bigger question is when you finally complete the cut full depth you’ve lost your immovable anchor as it’s a free circle of wood. I guess great care as you complete?
Hi! There's a couple of things you can do: • Use double sided wood working tape to keep the inside steady on whatever you are cutting on (something like a foam board or sacrificial wood layer so you are not cutting into their work bench/table) • Use Milescraft Tri grips to lift the cutting piece off the surface and put multiple on the inside and outside portion of the cut. We tend to put 3 or 4 tri grips inside the circle we are cutting then 4 /6/8 more on the outside piece. They have grip and once circle is done, nothing falls or moves. Thanks!
Can you cut bevel using this track?
Hi, you cannot do bevel cutting with the TrackSawGuide. You can with our SawGuide. Thanks!
Perrfecto
Definitely check your router bit distance from the pivot point (whether inside or outside), especially coming from a company calling itself “miles craft”. Just a heads up, so you don’t wind up telling your customers their project was “miles craft” away from what they ordered. Just kidding !! It’s a good manufactured jig, like anything, you have to double check your settings, and they do tell you that, so if you foul up, it’s most often user error ! I highly recommend for the occasional circle cut. If your doing day- in day out circle cuts, you’re going to want a shop made jig. Just saying !
This video is a little wacky to me. Specifically in the edge jointing section. The orientation of the boards change a significant amount of times throughout the instructions. The orientation of the boards is so crucial to get the alignment correct so there isn’t an issue with lippage when you join the two boards together. Can you clarify this for me? Maybe I’m missing something but I am consistently getting lippage. I don’t own a planer so this step is crucial for minimal sanding once the glue dries. Can you explain the overall concepts? For example: “Board 1 surface faces up” or “board 1 surface and board 2 surface should be facing each other”. Some animations with how specifically to orient the boards for each step would be very helpful in explaining. Thanks for any help.
Board 1 and board two should have the surfaces you want joined on the same plane facing away from each other. On board 1, the fence depth was set from the side that has the dark marks facing you standing at the vise. Board two is then put against it and aligned, then the entire piece is rotated around 180 degrees to put back into the wood vise on the work bench. For board two there are 2 dark dots in the middle near the edge visible When the guy goes to drill board two, he is using the fence distance set from the dark side of board one to set the same distance as the side with dots on board two (which is now facing him.) In the final shot the boards are joined together and you can see the dark marks on board one and the dark dots on board two now joined on the same surface plane.
I really appreciate the explanation! Thank you. I was finally able to figure it out today with a couple sample blocks and a good amount of trial and error, but your explanation will serve as a guide I can file away for reference.
Use directly combination square.
I have several Milescraft tools and jigs. They're perfect for a DIYer like me.

Hi! Please reach out to us at info@milescraft.com if you have any questions. Thanks!
for panels, it is not bad. for Tee or Ell is is a pain. Not having set-up marks is a negative. Getting the guide centered on a target line is...well
Not so slick when you only show the easy joint. A lot trickier when doing a tee joint.
I wish this video was more clear on the actual measuring and accurate cutting of the circles. All this detail on setting it up but not on the actual accuracy of using it! UGH
The music is a bit louder than your speech, makes it hard to hear.
I need a 5/8 inch one. 🥲
Can you use this with inset hinges?
Hi! Depending on which inset hinge you need the EuroHingeJige can be used for the European style 35mm hidden hinges. Reach out to us at info@milescraft.com if you need any further help with this. Thanks!
can you guys put a video on how to sets this up? the included printed guide is totally useless and when I scan the QA code to watch the video it takes me to the product page where I see this same video which never talk about the setup.
Hi, thanks for your feedback! We have passed it along to our Marketing team. Please reach out to us at info@milescraft.com for set-up questions. Thanks!
Thank You & About Time

"skip the plastic jig" yeah in your face kreg says milescraft lol
The beginning of the video shows a different set up on the support fixture than is shown later in the video, specifically the size and location of the support fences. Why the change/difference in the setups?
Hi! The camera angles have changed, but the parts do not. In general, when using the product and standing at the handle , the support fences will be on the left side. One is about halfway up the board, and support fence two is much closer, and your support board will have a larger open area on the further end than the closer. If you have any other questions feel free to send them to info@milescraft.com. Thanks!
@@milescraft Please look at the video, it has nothing to do with camera angles. The initial view in the video at 0:02 to 0:05 clearly shows the lower support fence is smaller than 10 inches long and is not aligned to the left side of the support fixture, but is clearly located centrally on the support fixture. Then from 0:05 to 0:07 the video clearly shows the upper support fence, while it appears to be 10 inches long, is not aligned to the left side of the support fixture and is centrally located on the support fixture and the lower support fence is still clearly not aligned to the left side of the support fixture, is clearly not 10 inches long and is clearly centrally located on the support fixture. This layout is different than what is shown in the video from 1:45 to 2:25.
@@dadelusroarer9093I built mine wrong trying to follow this video because it keeps flipping
@@Jdub5885 I was a bit confused with the video for the same reason, which is why I watched it so closely and noticed the initial setup is different than what is shown later. I just changed mine to be like the first setup between 0:02 and 0:07 and it works better to allow starting closer to the end of the board you are making the sign on. The printed instructions that came with the pantograph are terrible, and I just threw them away and have watched a number of videos.
In my experience, this is a peerless doweling jig; if you take a few additinal steps not immediately apparent from this very helpful video. Note that the range of material thicknesses is 14mm to 30mm. As part of your initial setup, mark a line through the center of the edge in the area where you are going to drill your dowel(s). Thereafter, remove the two guidebush blocks that you will not use at this time ( because they do not contain the hole sizes that you need). Then attach the jig as shown in this video AND slide the guidebush blocks vertically until the guidemarks on both sides of the blocks align with the line through the center of the target edge faces. Screw the blocks in place and follow the rest of the steps in the video for aligned dowels. Just remember to perform the block adjustment step as you set up to drill the holes when your board-thickness changes. I hope this helps.
The Tom Segura of woods
Alright. Im just gonna say it. Tom Segura.
Has anyone worked out how to do a dollar sign using this kit? I'm thinking use a large S, then change to the smaller bit and bushing, and carefully position a smaller i over the S, see if one line is enough, or whether two can fit side by side
We do have a dollar sign in this kit: milescraft.com/product/arrow-symbol-templates/. Thanks!
I use mine all the time. Works really well. 👍
Clear and accurate instructions, thanks.
The voice over says 40”x20” but the vid shows 48” x 20” so what is it?
Hi, sorry for the confusion the support fixture should be 20" x 48". Thanks!
When demonstrating this tool why does everyone show a shelf mounted a few inches from the edge of the board? Presumably you can't fit a shelf say half way down a book case.
Hello, if the book case frame is already made, then you are correct, you cannot dowel a shelf half way down. However, if you are building from scratch, you can pre-mark and put all your holes wherever you want shelves, and then assemble all at once. Once the unit is glued together, adding extra shelves any where in the middle will require something like pocket hole joinery or using shelf pins. Thanks!
@@milescraft I had been watching a number of vids showing various different dowel jigs, some more helpful than others! After watching this one again I think my comment was intended for one of the others! This one makes the method quite clear, I should pay more attention.😏
It looks like a great product and I'm excited to try it! I'm confused in which direction to use the router in this video. My understanding is to go in the opposite direction of what's shown.
Hi! If you are doing a single pass like shown in the video it makes no difference. If you are going to go forward one way, move it, then go back another to make a second pass to widen the cut, then the direction does matter. Check out our manual for more info: milescraft.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/1224-1274-EdgeMortiseGuideManual.pdf. Thanks!
What are the drilling centres please.
Hi! They are 3/8″, 1/4″, 5/16″. Thanks!
Im just here for the cowbell.
Simple jig with clear instructions on how to dowel. I might buy this jig.
I didn’t know Tom Segura was into wood working?!? 😂😂😂
It looks symmetrical. Will it work with a saw with the blade on the opposite side of the saw body? (i.e. Milwaukee M-12 Fuel 5-3/8 inch saw)
The product works with both left and right bladed saws. The only difference is the direction you have to push the saw. Right to left or left to right. Battery powered saws sometimes have issues with the battery hitting a clamp post and sometimes work arounds are required to achieve max cut depth.
That's a great looking product! 🎉
My favorite sanding block for detail work on RC fiberglass projects.
EXTREME HINGE!!
Thanks
One question is how do you know where to place the cabinet jig on the cabinet?
You would follow the hinge manufacturer’s instructions to determine the hinge cup location. The EuroHingeJig comes with two edge alignment knobs position the cup hole from the edge of the door and an edge locator pin that sets the distance from the top/bottom. Email us at info@milescraft.com if you need any help!
